About the Author

Ben Fisher is a best-selling author of comic books and prose spanning a wide spectrum of genres. Underlying all his work is a common thread of shared hope and humanity, relayed with unmistakable dry wit.

Ben grew up in rural North Carolina where he discovered a love of genre fiction through the models of Harryhausen, the panels of Kirby, and inside the walls of dungeons populated with dragons.

He broke into comics by winning a Viper Comics competition with artist Mike Henderson.  The two would go on to co-create a number of popular works, including the graphic novels Smuggling Spirits and Hexen Hammers.

After his nephews complained that they weren't allowed to read his books, Ben wrote stories for The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat & Pokey, which quickly sold over 100,000 copies.

His most recent ongoing series, The Great Divide, has garnered widespread critical praise for its unique spin on the post-apocalypse, and his online WebToon comic Ladybird, Ladybird was included in ComicCon's "Best Webcomics of 2017."

Ben currently resides in Portland, Oregon with his cat and an increasingly unwieldy collection of board games.

When things get too quiet, he writes and performs music under the name Tesla Deathray Survivors Anonymous
