Ben Fisher is an award-winning author of comic books and prose. He writes across a broad spectrum of genres, often exploring the concepts of hope and humor as flickering beacons in a world of insurmountable darkness.
Ben grew up in rural North Carolina where he discovered a love of fiction through Harryhausen's models, Kirby's panels, and Gygax's dungeons. He broke into comics by winning a Viper Comics competition and followed that up with a series of graphic novels, including Smuggling Spirits and Hexen Hammers.
His series, The Great Divide, garnered widespread critical praise for its unique spin on the post-apocalypse, and his WebToons comic Ladybird, Ladybird was included in ComicCon's list of best webcomics.
His Underfoot YA graphic novel series has been nominated for multiple Ringo Awards and the prestigious Black-Eyed Susan Book Award.
For younger audiences (and the young at heart), Ben writes stories for The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat & Pokey.
Ben currently resides in Portland, Oregon with his cat and an increasingly unwieldy collection of board games.
When things get too quiet, he writes and performs music with the band Tesla Deathray Survivors Anonymous.
